There's a counter intuitive truth about procrastination. If you have a problem with procrastination, you would think that you have a problem with starting things. But, the truth is, you have a problem with ending things.
See, the reason we procrastinate on the tasks is because we think that they're going to be difficult either physically or, more commonly, emotionally. And, the problem is, we don't think that we'll be able to get out of a given task once we start it. We think that we'll have to endure a certain challenge longer than we can handle. So, we keep putting the thing off because we don't feel that we can handle the amount of stress that comes with a task or that we will have enough endurance.
This stems from a problem of not being able to end things, of not giving yourself permission to quit when you've had enough. If you start practising allowing yourself to end something when it's enough, then you won't be so scared of starting things.
This procrastination goes beyond just small tasks: this can lead to also not starting relationships because you're scared that you won't break up with people.
If you can end things, you can start things.
