How to Deal with Selfish People

I wanted to give you guys a couple of tips for dealing with selfish people.

First and foremost, you have to be clear what selfish means. If somebody is taking care of their own needs, without harming others, that is not selfishness. If somebody is not being able to read your mind, guess what you want, or accommodate you, they're not being selfish either.

Selfish people go for what they want, but they also harm others on the way knowingly. Okay?

So, even if you gave them feedback that they're being harmful, they just keep doing it.

You know, that “F*ck you. I do what I want” attitude.

That's selfishness, and there is generally a pattern of this.

If you're sure that’s what they’re doing, first give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that they don't know that they're doing this. So, confront them on it.

Say, “Look when you do this, it harms me. Is there a way of doing it where you don't harm me?”

If they still keep doing it, just cut them out of your life and go find someone who's not like that.
