Good Person? Think Again

A client just sent me a really interesting video of Tim Minchin, a comedian and entertainer, expressing his opinion on how he doesn't believe it's a moral good to care about all the bad things that are happening in the world.

Essentially, this is his argument: often, people get all worked up about what's going on in Gaza, Ukraine and other places, but they don't actually do anything about it.

How is that a moral good?

Think of whatever you get all worked up about and yet do nothing about it.

If you're not actually involved in solving a problem, and you're neglecting your family and other things that are important to you in your immediate circle, and all you do is worry about something that is out of your control—ask yourself— is this really a moral thing to do or am I just wasting time?
